The New Johnny Konxville

So, this past Saturday Joshua was outside playing with a friend. Johnathan came in with his camera phone to show us what they were doing outside. Here is a video of Joshua's antics.

Jeff says that the next video will be Joshua vs. Cactus.

Family Photos

Here are some pictures we had done in July just before we moved to Arizona. I feel bad that I have not posted in awhile. Many of you have seen these pictures on Facebook but at least I posted something. :)

7,300 is now 5,840

Many of you are wondering what the title might mean. That is the approximate number of diapers needed to cover Kolton, Kamryn and Landon in a year. Well, I have good news. Landon is now potty trained. We now only need approximately 5840 diapers for Kolton and Kamryn. I don't want to start calculating the number of cans of formula nor its price for a year.

Landon enjoyed the few days of running around without a diaper or underwear on. The best part was he kept wanting to play baseball and slide into home. That was an interesting sight!

Sleep! What's That?

I wish I had time to blog about the past month but I only have a few minutes to post some pictures. We are all doing well but we are all missing something very crucial in life...SLEEP.

Kolton Jeffery born at 10:56 am weighing 5 pounds 4 ounces (on the right)
Kamryn Lea born at 10:58 am weighing 4 pounds 13 ounces (on the left)

Kamryn was rushed to the NICU just after this picture. She was born with fluid in her lungs and she was having a difficult time breathing. She also had was under weight and its mandatory for the babies to go to the NICU when they are under 5 pounds.

Here are a few pictures taken when they were about 3 weeks old. Kamryn is laying next to her Grandpa Fish's shoe. Its amazing how small she is in the picture compared to the shoe. To think she was even smaller at birth.

Kolton and Kamryn with Great Grandma McKinnon. She just loved holding the babies.

Are We Crazy? YES, We Are!

It has been awhile since the last post. I don't even know where to begin. The last post was in April after Jeff's accident. It has been 2 months since the accident. Here are a few things that have been happening...

  • Krishawn - May 1st...trip to AZ to find a house. We were out bid by $15,000.
  • Jeff - May 24th...trip to AZ. Offer on house and did not hear anything from the owner. Finally owner was found in Europe and accepts offer 10 days later.
  • Johnathan - Last day of school was June 3rd with middle school final exams leading up to the last day. Finishes with straight A's again. He actually received a 111% on his final in Math.
  • Joshua - Last day of school also June 3rd. He received many awards at the award ceremony for many different things including reading the most books for the year. He also ended the school year with straight A's.
  • Landon - Turned 2 on May 16th. Ready to be potty trained but I'm not. I hope we don't miss out on the opportunity. To many things to do and not enough time to take a 2 yr. old to the bathroom ALL the time.
  • Doctor appointments galore. You don't realize how much they monitor you when you are pregnant with twins.
  • Packing, packing, and more packing. As prepared as I usually am, I see daily that I'm not ready for the craziness in a few weeks.
  • Family picture clothing. We are having our family pictures done a week after my scheduled c-section. What size do I buy for myself? How do I buy clothes for a new family of 5 which includes a GIRL.

So here we are. One week before my scheduled c-section...two weeks before family pictures...and two weeks and one day till the move. How do I get it all done? I have no idea. I guess if you are going to live life you might as well live life as crazy as possible or at least that’s what we have decided to do.

Some People Will Do Anything For A New Car

Jeff decided to total his car a few weeks ago. I think its because he was jealous that I was going to get a new car before him because of the twins arrival. He was driving to work and a car pulled out in front of him and he hit them going 55 miles an hour. It was not his fault of course. He did have to go to the ER and is nursing back a shoulder injury. Like I said before...Some people will do anything for a new car.

NO Pain...NO Gain

Joshua has always been our sports kid. At an early age he could throw a spiral with a football. He is also an amazing soccer player. It has been great to watch him grow and love to play sports. I think that Landon is going to give him a run for his money. Landon can drop kick anything he wants too. Just last week he drop kicked my toothbrush across the room. I figured kicking was going to be his thing. Well, he has found a new love. Golf has become his life. He refuses to play with the plastic set we got him and only wants to real thing. He will drag the real golf clubs in the house which is about the biggest fight of the day. Well, many of you know when you play golf most people wear a glove on their hand to help with the friction. Well, they do not make them for a 22 month old. Landon plays so much that he developed a blister on his poor hand. The problem was he refused to wear a band-aid for the longest time so every time he grabbed the golf club it would start to bleed. We finally convinced him to put one on. NO Pain...NO Gain!!! Should it be starting so early?
Here is a video of Landon's golfing skills.

Cake Making Skills

This past Tuesday we had the Blue and Gold Banquet for the Cub Scouts. Jeff is the Cub Master and I'm the Cub Scout Committee Chairperson. I was given the task to serve dinner and dessert for 87 people. The problem was I had a budget of $70. The theme was American ABC's so I fixed an All-American dinner. I served hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, fruit, veggies and chips. Thanks to the parents, all of the side items were provided. My issue was, I needed a cake for the event. I knew I did not have enough money to buy a cake for the number of guests that would be attending. I called a friend of mine Tammy to get some advice. She does a really nice job on cakes so I felt that if anyone could help me, she could. She sent me to a website called Cakecentral.com were there are more ideas than I knew what to do with. I found the cake idea I liked and gave her a call. She told me what I needed and I started. I decided to make a cupcake cake to make it easier in passing the dessert out. I made 80 cupcakes and began the process of putting it together. When it was all done, I was so proud of myself. I was exhausted but very happy with the final product. Here is a picture of my cake making skills. I think I'm going to try to get a job on the cake show ACE of Cakes.

The Verdict Is....

Today was the big day to find out what we are having. Is it 2 girls, 2 boys or one of each? Well we figured you all could find out the same way the boys did.

Yes, we are having a boy and a girl. We are very excited but wonder what to do with a little girl. I'm just hoping she is a Tom boy not a little frilly kind of girl.

It looks as if it has already started. This is a picture of the girl kicking the boy in the head.

The Fish

Well, we have had a few of you ask about new fish. We bought some new fish and de-chlorinated the water. Everything worked out beautifully. Unfortunately, we have since lost both fish. One of them lasted 4 days and the other lasted 6. We have no idea what’s going on, but have decided to take a hiatus from raising fish. The kids have asked for a dog and I really don't think we have a good enough track record.

The Worst Family Home Evening Ever

Just before the holidays, Joshua asked if we could get some fish for Landon. Jeff told him we would get them after Christmas since we were going to be gone for a few weeks. We decided that FHE this week would be buying some fish and stopping for some ice cream. We purchased some fish, had some ice cream next to the pet store and headed home with the new tank to get them set up. After arriving home, we set up the tank and prepared the fish for the transfer from their travel bag to the tank. We did the transfer and headed upstairs for showers. The kids got ready for bed and we said family prayers. Joshua wanted to head downstairs to say good night to the fish, but Jeff said no and sent him to bed. Jeff, Johnathan, Landon and I came back downstairs to hang out before bedtime for Johnathan and Landon. We wanted to post what we saw as we came down the stairs.

Yes, the fish were dead. The time from which we put them in the tank till we came back down after showers was about 40 minutes. I could not believe it. We killed 2 fish in about 40 minutes. Joshua is our sensitive one. I started to stress about what we would tell him in the morning. Johnathan, who has become a very funny kid, said I know what to tell him. He said, "Joshua, the fish decided to sleep in today." It was so funny but sad for our goldfish. We realized that we did not de-clorinate the water which is why they died. The kids are lucky we have not hurt them over the years.

Christmas 2008

I know its late but I wanted to post a few pictures from our Christmas Holiday. We spent Christmas at home in Texas until about 7:45 am, at which time the kids and I left for the airport to go to North Carolina. Jeff had to stay home until the following Tuesday because he was on-call. The plane ride with the Landonado was not fun. There was this lady on my flight that had enough guts to say to me..."Maybe next time you will think twice about flying by yourself." Landon was not loud, he just wanted to get down and walk the isle and I constantly had to fight him to stay in my lap. A little odd for Christmas Day. As I rushed from one flight to another, I decided to quickly grab a few lunchables for the kids and a sub for myself at a counter on the way to the next flight, which had already finished boarding. I allowed the kids to start eating once the plane was in the air and they were anxiously waiting for a drink as the drink cart came down the isle. Not only were they offering drinks, they were offering sub sandwiches for FREE. What airline does that? I was so mad. I spent $18 at the little counter for 2 lunchables without drinks as well as a turkey sandwich. What a rip off!! We had a great time in North Carolina with my father, my mother and step-father, my sisters and their families. I sure was glad though that Jeff traveled home with me.
